Identification of Dyslexia in the Young Child

Presenter: Sue Jones
Diagnostic Services Coordinator,
Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders

With greater awareness of the variables that help to predict a child’s success in reading, we now can identify dyslexia or risk features of dyslexia in the young child. In turn, we can provide the child with early intervention to strengthen the foundational skills for reading. This seminar will provide information about the stages of reading and spelling development, early indicators of dyslexia, phonological awareness development, key components of early intervention, and resources to enhance early reading skills.

This lecture is for Dyslexia Assessment Specialists, Educational Diagnosticians,
School Psychologists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
